A Retail-Tech Product Journey

A Retail-Tech Product Journey

This Project was conceptualized to put my Product Management skills to test and to continue to learn. Any feedback is welcome! Through this article, I also hope to help any of you in the journey of honing your skills.

Aider (pronounced as é·dé) is french for support. This mobile application targets to help retail store staff through real time customer assistance support & success metric tracking.

The core use cases of the product are to

  • help the store staff to capture customer details quickly & manage client information
  • provide personalised recommendations & offers to the clients
  • display product information to the clients
  • track associate-client relationship to enable client retention & service continuity.

Let’s create a Product Requirement document (PRD) for Aider. Elements covered in the PRD will be as follows:

  • Objective
  • Business Goal
  • Primary & Secondary Product Users
  • Target Market & Buyer Persona
  • Functional & Non-functional Product Feature List
  • Success Metrics
  • User Stories & Acceptance Criteria
  • Use Cases
  • Information Architecture
  • Mockup
  • Pricing Structure
  • Go-to-market Strategy
